Rosalia

Rosalia Vila is an Spanish flamenco and pop singer. Since she was a teen she was involved both in traditional and popular music. However, her music interests have widened to include soul, hip-hop and hip-hop. Her voice has been called by no less of talented than Flamenco guitar player Pepe Habichuela as sharp and sweet however with a bit of bite similar to older versions. Following her debut album Los Angeles garnered attention from the U.S. public and earned her a Latin Grammy nomination for Best New Artist and her follow-up album in 2018. El Mal Querer was a significant commercial and critical success making it to the top of the Billboard Latin Pop Albums chart and eventually winning the Grammy. The single La Fama featuring the Weeknd came out in 2021. Her third long-player Motomami collaborated on songwriting with a variety of producers and artists like Cory Henry and James Blake. It was released on March 20th, 2022 after the show of Chicken Teriyaki by Saturday Night Live. Rosalia did her solo performance for the first time ever on the program. Along with taking home three other Latin Grammy Awards for Motomami Rosalia also became the first woman to win the Latin Album of the Year twice.
